 Plenty for All !!

Respected economist Ross Gittins, writing in SMH 29/9/25 refers to the concept of “Abundance” currently championed by equally well-respected economist and Federal MP, Dr. Andrew Leigh.  Basically this holds that if we compete for goods and services, some win and some lose, but if we work together we can all be better off. The winners may win less and the losers may lose less.

 A fair go for all

That is really what the FairGO Voters Network and Votergram service are about. Dr. Leigh is reported as saying “When immigrants are welcomed and succeed, communities see that the newcomers expand the pie.” How good used that to be, compared to the current situation where millions of un-serviced migrants have shrunk the current housing and government services pie for themselves and Australians, causing significant disharmony.

Democracy beats Dictatorship

On the same day the SMH published another article on the PM’s visit to the UK and the “Fight for democracy”. PM Albanese was quoted as saying that “traditional parties of government had an obligation to show that they can make practical improvements to people’s lives”. They can only do that when we individual voters out there in the community tell each and every Member of Parliament what needs to be done and we carefully explain why. The more of us as individuals who do that, the more convinced the MPs become of the benefits claimed. Individuals with good ideas, particularly solutions, have incredible power and influence.  Each individual who backs that up increases credibility exponentially. It is no good telling just one local MP who is 1 person out of 226, half of whom are fighting with the other half for the power that government delivers.

Influencing the Future
