Parental Persuasion essential for Public Schooling

Parental Political Persuasion 

Great to see the article in the weekend Sydney Morning Herald by the mother from Glebe Public School. Public schooling is vital to advance the position of people from regular families. Often it is from past generations that lack of wealth comes. Really good education from Primary school to HSC can set most Australian children up for a life that is not one of repeated deprivation, but one of prosperity.

Fairness

Government affects much of people’s lives. For it to help school parents and students, they first need to persuade it. That means convincing both state and federal governments. We need Public Schools to be the best schools in Australia.

Governments do not automatically of their own accord do that. FairGO was established as a foundation resource for Australians to continue advancing Australia as a fair nation in accordance with our National Anthem.

Parents and Students, as well as other interested community members, want to enjoy good inexpensive Public Schooling.  They first need to monitor what the state and federal Education authorities are doing. Schools in each town and suburb must be observed and assessed individually by parents. Then they can confer with each other  on how student needs can be met.

With that knowledge, the combined power of parents and the Votergram Service they can guide the authorities via parliament. That will get the department doing what those parents and students want  in their schools.

Apathy excludes opportunity

Some parents in the suburbs and towns  can’t be bothered monitoring what the education authorities are doing in their schools. Then there is every chance that the schools will not  do what students require. We all react well to supervision and encouragement. Get involved for your child’s sake.

Path to Parental Power

Here is the hierarchy of public education: At the top, parents control parliament by electing and paying politicians to serve them as their representatives in parliament. Parliament controls the education ministries and departments. The ministries and departments control each of the individual schools. So parental control of schools comes via parliament. Parents of students have no real power over their schools in their capacity as parents. They have enormous control in their role as voters. That is thanks to the Votergram Service.

Whilst a P & C is an excellent way for parents to converse with teachers and staff, the P & C is really owned by the Department of Education.

Influencing the Department and Parliament.

To improve school performance, resources and facilities, parents need to put on their “Voter’s hats”.  In that role they can persuade the parliament to direct the Education Department to provide what their children need. Parents can that way persuade the parliament to fund what is needed. It is all very well parliaments pouring money into sport and business grants. The most important thing for our children is the government pouring money by the millions of dollars into our schools. Voters Network has a specific “Public Schooling” interest group for parents all over Australia. They can join and confer on what their own children need in their school.

Parliament wants to help

Parliament as a whole and individual MPs in particular need to be told by parents what is needed. That applies to each school in order for them to direct the public service to provide it.

The media may give Aussies the idea that politicians do not care. Obviously they do care, because almost all Australians care about helping children. But in addition politicians care because the school parents are also voters.  Voters control the political careers of all MPs and political parties. They do that by how they cast their votes in elections.

It is essential for parents to know that when they vote in elections they are setting the pattern of how their school will educate their children. Parents can also influence how their families, friends and neighbours vote. They can actually influence how people in other electorates vote. Re-elect those who make Public Schools the best in Australia.

That is how democracy is designed to work so that voter input produces better government outputs for the community in general. Parents can exert great influence over government resourcing their schools. The Votergram Service has been established for that purpose.
